Nicholas is an experienced solicitor with over 27 years in practice.
Nicholas is the principal of N.Panos & Associates a highly respected and progressive boutique law firm which he founded over 18 years ago.
Prior to forming N.Panos & Associates, Nicholas was an associate partner in a medium sized firm of solicitors and was responsible for establishing that firm’s tax law practice.
Nicholas has also worked for one of the big four accounting firms as a tax consultant.
Presently Nicholas is specialising in all areas of tax law, tax litigation, audits and disputes, superannuation (with particular emphasis on self-managed superannuation funds), business and company law, estate planning, business succession planning, asset protection planning, trusts and general commercial matters.
He holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree and a Masters of Law Degree all from the University of Sydney.
He is one of a very small group of expert specialist solicitors (currently five) who have passed a rigorous assessment process and been accredited by the Law Society of New South Wales as Business and Personal Taxation Law Specialists.
He is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales Business and Personal Taxation Law Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee.
Nicholas has a diverse range of clients including small to medium size enterprises, high net worth individuals and professional sports persons. He also acts for many other professional persons such as accountants, lawyers, financial planners and mortgage brokers.
Nicholas has an extensive referral network mainly comprising of accountants, lawyers, financial planners and mortgage brokers who regularly refer clients to him.
Nicholas is a Chartered Tax Advisor of The Tax Institute and member of the Law Society of NSW.
Nicholas is the long serving chairman of the Parramatta Tax Discussion Group as well as The Tax Institute Monthly Tax Club (formerly the Breakfast Club).
He has served on the Tax Liaison Committee of the Parramatta branch of the Australian Taxation Office and was also a member of the Large Business Income Discussion Group at that office.
He is a former State Counsellor of The Tax Institute and presently a long serving member of its professional development committee. Over the years he has assisted with the planning, development, organisation, presenting and chairing of many successful seminars for the Tax Institute.
Nicholas frequently presents papers at both professional and industry seminars and is the author of a number of papers on tax.
